Children in the 6-and-under age bracket have probably never played soccer before, and this season may be their first experience in an organized team setting. Generally children this age aren’t concerned about how their soccer skills compare with those of the others on their team; they’re primarily interested in being with friends and having fun learning and playing the sport.
Children in U-6 are under 4 & 5 years old, generally pre school and kindergarteners. In Chester we encourage parents to get on the field with their kids for the once a week small group practice and game.
2022 Season
Birth Year 2017 & 2018
- Practices & games are held Saturdays from 8:30 to 9:30 am, at the Wason Field on route 102, (Raymond Road), from Aug 27 through Oct 29, 2022
We will divide the children into small teams, and teams will stay with the same group throughout the practice. Bring a friend! There are no weekday sessions for this age group.
Children should be equipped with shin guards, socks pulled up so they cover the guard, sneakers or cleats, a size 3 or 4 soccer ball and a water bottle.
Consider volunteering!
This age group needs the most help! Young children need lots of support to be successful, and a 3 to 1 ratio is really best, so if you have feet and don’t take yourself too seriously, consider volunteering with this age group. You’ll be glad you did!
