Under The Lights 2019

Last night just over ninety Chester soccer players took part in the annual Under The Lights event at the town’s upper soccer field. The evening pairs up the Chester v Chester recreation soccer teams for a game each at the u10, u12 and u15 divisions; kids ages 8 through 14.

The three back-to-back Friday night games were originally scheduled as a kick off for Columbus Day weekend, but were moved a week to accommodate a predicted coastal storm. (The storm took another six days to arrive, but anyway…)

Special thank you to the parents and Boosters Club for providing food and staffing the “Snack Shack”. Because of your generous donations and purchases made, the boosters club earned $279.31 to put directly into the program. Thanks guys!

We’d also like to thank Chester Academy eighth grader, Nora Scott, for singing the National Anthem so beautifully and Mike Freiburger for providing sound as well as announcing all the players. The music added a great festive back drop to the action on the field.

We would also like to thank Hazelton’s Orchards and the General Store for their generous donations to the concession stand. Please support these businesses that support our community!
